Great Wall Intelligent Electric Drive Axle Mass Production: Motor Efficiency Reaches 97%, Maximum Speed 120 km/h

Yesterday, Great Wall Motor announced that the Great Wall Smart Drive electric drive axle, which was fully self-developed by Great Wall Commercial Vehicle, went into mass production on June 28.

According to the introduction, the electric drive axle that went into mass production this time adopts a self-developed double oil-cooled flat wire motor, with a motor efficiency of up to 97%. It has the characteristics of "no interruption during gear shifting on slopes and no power attenuation". Through the intelligent algorithm of the multi-in-one power domain controller, it can allocate the power of the dual motors according to the transportation scenario, optimize the shifting strategy, and thereby reduce power consumption.

The integrated axle achieves lightweight design through the integrated design of the drive motor and 4-speed AMT transmission. It has advantages such as "strong anti-vibration and impact resistance, small system energy loss, and high transmission efficiency". Currently, this axle has completed 180 million kilometers of bench testing, supporting a maximum vehicle speed of 120 km/h and a maximum gradeability of >30%.

It is worth mentioning that the super-fast charging bottom-mounted battery technology solution co-developed by Great Wall Commercial Vehicle and its ecological partner Hive Energy, when combined with the Great Wall Smart Drive electric drive axle, can lower the center of gravity of the entire vehicle chassis.
